Excellence in Education
The office of the president is pleased to announce the School of Allied Health’s Medical Assistant programs are the winners of the 2018 Excellence in Education award. Consistently from 2014 to 2017, the programs achieved 100% graduate satisfaction rates, 100% employer satisfaction rates, a 3-year certification pass rate average of 90%, and a combined 3-year average placement rate of 92%.

Excellence in Citizenship
The office of the president is pleased to announce that Springfield campus student, Kenneth Bishop has been named the winner of the 2018 Excellence in Citizenship award. Mr. Bishop has made a significant, positive impact in his classes and with faculty, staff, and fellow students. His kind and generous nature are only matched by his work ethic and desire for success.
Excellence in Lifelong Learning
The office of the president is pleased to announce that Dr. Jackie Harris, Dean, has been named the winner of the 2018 Excellence in Lifelong Learning award. Dr. Harris began her career as a Medical Assistant in 1992 and has since matriculated through educational preparation and her career as an educator. Dr. Harris continues to be an example for our students and the faculty.
Excellence in Innovation
The office of the president is pleased to announce that Michael Sowers, Executive Director for the university’s online division, has been named the winner of the 2018 Excellence in Innovation award. Mr. Sowers has been instrumental in the development of the university’s online learning management systems, electronic textbook selection, and the addition and deployment of various learning resources that impact all BU students.

BU President, Brian Stewart is proud to honor these achievements for 2018. Student of the Year, Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and the 2019 winner of the Founders Award will be announced at winter commencement ceremonies on Friday, January 25th.
