Bryan University, after providing Medical Assistant training to students and serving physician offices in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas, has announced the Medical Assistant (50-week diploma) and Medical Assistant (70-week Associate of Applied Science degree) programs are now available 100% online.

“We already have a national network of employers, externship sites, and advisory council members in allied health from regions outside of our campus locations,” said Dr. Jackie Harris, Dean of Bryan University’s online division. “The demand for qualified, certified medical assistants in those regions is equally as strong, so this adaptation to provide online delivery is an exciting option for job seekers and healthcare employers in those areas.” The university will begin working with employers and externship locations in clustered regions nationwide to secure clinical sites and employment opportunities for local graduates of the programs.

Bryan University is an American Medical Technologists (AMT) partner school and curricula for these programs is designed to prepare students for national certification. Harris says the progression students take in the program is important and impactful. “Within 45 weeks they will be placed in a clinical externship, completing competencies in an actual medical office, and potentially on an extended audition for a job upon graduation. At the same time we begin scheduling them for the certification exam. It’s a huge opportunity and a real culmination of their hard work and preparation.” The office of admission at Bryan University is accepting applications for the program. Classes begin every 5 weeks.
